Workers began dismantling the 10-story-tall iconic image of James on a mural in downtown Saturday, a billboard that has dominated the city’s skyline for years but is being taken down now that the superstar has left the Cavaliers for the Miami Heat.
“We are removing the LeBron James Witness mural in downtown Cleveland and expect the process to be completed within a few days,” Nike spokesman KeJuan Wilkins said in an e-mail to The Associated Press.
Wilkins said he does not yet know what the company’s plans are with the gigantic sign on the side of the Landmark Office Tower.

I am not a huge sports fan but can someone answer why this is such a big deal? If a person fufills his contract and chooses to go somewhere else then what is the crime? From what I know professional athletes have only a specified amount of time to make their fortune. Why not go to a team they like and for a price that is better. How many people leave job A for job B if it offers more? Just confusing to me that someone is expected to have loyalty to a team or area and not loyalty to themselves and their family.

your city does not have any money and james made the city what it is today, and you are haters because the funds wont be coming in like it use too! This man is thinking about his future for himself and his family get over it and go on! (while you are dismantling things with James on it you would want to save that money (you are going to need it) HE IS THE SUNSHINE STATE NOW!!! And we love him because he is himself He does not owe you anything, You all that are against him and putting your mouth on him ! watchout , Karma is nothing nice!!!( you see what happend to the owner/ coach what ever he is The money that has to come out of his pocket when he could be using that to add to the city and making the team better!
